PHOTOGRAPHY

Sometimes people ask me '' Which is your favourite photo among the ones you have taken?” I don’t know, I don’t care. What I do care about is the next photo I’m going to take or the place I’m going to visit. Henri Cartier Bresson

There might be many reasons  leading to approach photography. Yet, no doubt, curiosity and seeking new adventures are essential. What lies behind capturing a photograph? My head is full of photos I have never taken  and I hope this is true for many of you. First of all, we must be caught by the image we would like to capture and sometimes we might be caught to such an extent that we don't shoot or rather, as in my case, we are not ready to shoot. Photography courses may be extremely helpful to acquire the skills that enable us to be ready, have a full battery, the correct camera settings, and be in the right place for the best shot. However, what matters most is the ability to keep being amazed by what we see and this requires a great deal of sensitivity. Sensitivity is not something you can learn, it is love for what lies before your eyes, you won’t be able to take a portrait if you do not love everything about the subject, if you do not marvel at the beauty of their wrinkles. You cannot capture a dramatic landscape if you do not love nature. Sensitivity either exists or not and this is what distinguishes great photographers from everyone else.

There are two people in every photograph: the photographers and the viewer. Ansel Adams

If you love nature in all its expressions, come to the Dolomites and  make Rifugio Lagazuoi your next destination. Small comforts will help you bring out the photography that lies inside yourself.
